Lillian Mary Grace Gray


Lillian Mary Grace Gray of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, beloved wife of
the late Benjamin Franklin Gray, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2005 after a
brief illness at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 85 years.

Lillian was born at Montreal, Quebec on Wednesday, February 25, 1920. At a
young age, she moved with her mother to Nordegg, Alberta and shortly after
to homestead in Strachan, Alberta. Lillian attended Pleasant Vale School
until grade seven. She helped raise her younger brothers and sisters. In
1940, she married Benjamin Gray; together they raised a large family on the Gray Prairie Creek Homestead. They were a hardworking couple eventually
retiring to Rocky Mountain House in 1983.

Following the passing of her
spouse, Lillian moved into the Red Deer Nursing Home where she lived the last seven years.

She is survived by her children Frank (Dorothy) Gray and Gloria (Clifford)
Sever of Rocky Mountain House, Joyce (Harold) Brownlee of Valemont, British Columbia; Jean
(Dennis) Friesen of Bow Island, Alberta; Ruth (Gordie) Hrycun of Edmonton, Alberta; Doris
(Garth) Riggins of Duncan, British Columbia; daughter-in-law Tina (Lee) Robson of Rimbey, Alberta; Grace (Larry) Maetche of Red Deer, Step Gray of North Vancouver, British Columbia and Gail(Gary) Anderson of Red Deer. She is also survived by twenty-three
grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, sisters and brothers Annie Lea, Marjorie Love, Gladys Osborne, Laura Nodeland, Victor and Clifford Evans, numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her loving husband Ben, Lillian was predeceased by her sons Claude, Glen and David, granddaughters Janette Sever and Amanda Gray as well as by her grandson Wesley Friesen, her parents Cass and Ethel Evans and her brothers George, Art and Eric.


If desired, memorial donations in Lillian Gray's name may be directed to
the charity of donor's choice.

In living memory of Lillian Gray, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Memorial Tree Park.

Lillian Mary Grace Gray was interred at Prairie Creek Cemetery at Strachan, Alberta.
